Interview with Ricky Fung : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. Ricky Fung : We wanted to design a watch that focused on form and function - similar to the principles coming out of the Bauhaus era. .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. Ricky Fung : We wanted to keep the modern customer in mind. We wanted to translate old technology into a modern .Frank Scott: What are your future plans for this award winning design?. Ricky Fung : We'll be looking forward to releasing a gold version of our Atticus in a few months. .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. Ricky Fung : It's taken just over a year from inception to production. .Frank Scott: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?. Ricky Fung : No. .Frank Scott: Who is the target customer for his design?. Ricky Fung : The design is aimed at customers who are looking for something a bit more special than the standard battery powered fashion watch. .Frank Scott: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?. Ricky Fung : Translating designs from paper to the physical world is always difficult and required us to constantly iterate. .Frank Scott: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?. Ricky Fung : We were looking to validate the quality of our design with experts and professionals from the industry. .
